My name is Steven Porter, and I teach entrepreneurs how to enter government contracting the right way — without confusion, wasted time, or expensive consulting fees.
I’ve spent years on the inside of federal procurement, serving as a Government Contracting Officer, reviewing proposals, awarding contracts, and working directly with vendors trying to break into this space. I know exactly what contracting officers look for — and just as importantly, what causes beginners to get rejected, delayed, or ignored.
But I wasn’t born knowing any of this.
I started where most small business owners are right now — curious about GovCon, unsure of the process, and trying to figure out where to even begin.
Like many people, I had to learn how SAM.gov works, how to write a capability statement, how to select NAICS codes, and how to find opportunities that actually match your business. I made mistakes, asked questions, and learned the system from both sides — as a government buyer and now as a business owner helping others win.
Fast forward — today I run multiple businesses, consult with companies entering government contracting, and help business owners position themselves for success instead of guessing their way through the process.
I’ve trained entrepreneurs, coached teams, and supported businesses preparing proposals, responding to RFQs, RFIs, and managing awarded contracts. And now I’m taking everything I know — the shortcuts, the mistakes to avoid, the templates, the strategies, the step-by-step order — and putting it into a program that ANY beginner can follow.
